Accommodations & Travel

There are two options for accommodations.
NOTE: Summer is high season for Boulder accommodation, so we urge participants to book their rooms as early as possible. All hotels and accomodations listed below are located within a XX minute walk of the conference venue. Boulder also has a bicycle sharing program that is quite affordable, as well as extensive bicycle paths, so renting a car once you are in town is not strictly necessary.

On Campus Housing

There are dormitory rooms available on campus at the University of Colorado. This option is the cheapest, and the rooms will be closest to the conference venue, but the ammenities are more basic than those offered in a hotel.

Travel to Boulder

Most people will need to fly into the Denver International Airport. It is located approximately one hour away from Boulder. There are several options to get from the airport to Boulder.

  • Public bus (Rapid Transport Denver) from the airport direct to Boulder. The bus leaves approximately every hour, and is probably amongst the fastest and cheapest ways to reach boulder. The bus needed is the AB bus to Boulder. You can catch it at the public transit depot located beneath the airport hotel. It cost $9 and takes approximately 1 hour to reach Boulder. The time table is here. There are several stops. If you are staying at the university you will want to get off at the XXXXX stop. Otherwise get off at Table Mesa and take an Uber or Lyft to your hotel.
  • Green Ride (a $3 discount per one-way trip. Credit card information to confirm is required.)
  • Super Shuttle
  • Uber, Lyft, taxi rides (between $50-$100)
  • Car Rental Rent a car at the airport. This is the most expensive option and may not save much time. If you have accomodations near the university, then a rental car isn't needed in Boulder. There is a bike share program, plenty of bike paths, and also it is easy to use ride sharing services like Uber or Lyft within Boulder to get around if needed for quite cheap. But if you need a car you can get one from the airport.
